really insightful video… through the conversation, I could not help but reason with – How can a buyer disconnect from always buying his taste and choice in clothes to actually curating a mixture of what everyone else would like? Any views?

  20. Luthor Viks on December 3, 2021 at 2:09 pm

I love when girls have a raspy yet soft voice. So relaxing to listen to.

There’s like a wave of people wanting to be designers and stylist that kinda went mainstream after the tumblr wave and all the instagram street influencers. I hope I get the opportunity to be a senior merchandising buyer, senior fashion director, and my favorite a brand director before everyone starts to discover these cool jobs too.

  25. ale Q on December 3, 2021 at 2:14 pm

This is giving me a deeper view of fashion! Might actually follow through with my dream to work in the fashion industry that seemed impossible.

I just started a job in the fashion marketing industry and these videos are so helpful! I got a little bit lucky that my hometown has such a huge media company in it, but I’d encourage anyone considering it to stick with what you feel you’re good at because there are so many options!

  37. Rita Gaston on December 3, 2021 at 2:29 pm

Idea Alexa. Please help young girls buy less. Maybe experiment. Can you wear same item everyday. And learn to realize most people in world don’t have all their fast fashion
options. Please help young people wake up to their contribution to global warming.

  38. Reema Ameer on December 3, 2021 at 2:29 pm

you don’t need to forecast a trend if you can set it. But they were right about Cuba influencing the chill resort look of Hawaiian shirts and the linen come back.
last season’s bombers brought back by Lim are replaced by this season’s khaki utility jackets/parkas/ military shirts and will probably be replaced by a modernized chinese silk jacket as sported by Camille Rowe in a Vogue interview. I already invested in a pair of Camille Rowe inspired flares & turquoise earrings, all that’s left is a longline vest, floppy hat and a balloon sleeve blouse. The best thing about 2016 is that you’ve got nods to so many different eras and to mix it up is better than to look like a cut out from the past. LA cool is in along with a modern nod to 90’s punk/grunge plaids with loose fitted grid/check/tartans paired with oversized cotton tees and mismatched soludos. lose the god damn beanie. it’s a nod. don’t overblow the gesture.

I don’t get what exactly a buyer do?
You know… He/she buys for a store from for example zara and gucci? Or she buys from a mass production for a brand like gucci?
Can some one help me with my question? I cant get it…
