Fashion Trends I Hated But Now I Love | 2022 Fashion Trends
I’m always surprised when I start out disliking a fashion trend but somehow over time it grows on me and I become a fan. Has this ever happened to you? You may have seen the trend online or in magazines and thought that you would never ever wear it and then a few months or sometimes even years down the track you find yourself being drawn to it? Well this happens to me quite a lot. I’m sure it’s because the older I get the more discerning I get when it comes to how I like to spend my money and let’s be honest . . . there are only so many clothes I really need too. So I’m probably more practical these days than I’ve ever been AND having a fairly tiny closet helps to limit how much I buy too. But I actually really love it when I start out hating a trend and then find myself getting drawn to it. So today I thought I’d focus on a number of trends I really didn’t like – for all sorts of crazy reasons – but now I do. I’d love to know if you can relate to this and if you find yourself being a late adopted to some trends too. I also hope this video encourages you to look a little differently at some trends and maybe let go of some of your preconceived ideas about them. Maybe you were told when you were young that something didn’t suit you or a colour wasn’t right for you? Whatever it is that may be stopping you from trying something new I hope this video inspires you to think outside the square with some of your summer fashion choices.
Thanks so much for watching and see you soon.

fashion trends 2022 spring summer
Screw the haters wear what you want!👊🥰
I agree. Wear what you want. Yayyyyy
I love the trainers with dresses and skirts, although they look much better on taller women, I need a little heel, too short! You look so great in that look!
Always been a fan of sneakers with skirts and dresses
Very good video 🙂
You look fantastic
I wonder if you are misinterpreting the comment about cami tops? They may have meant that you have to watch out for giving a peek through the side of the cami if it is loose on the side. I’m 51 and wear camis. 🙂 I’m a redhead and have always worn kelly green, even when it is totally out of fashion. 🙂 I don’t love the white sneakers with dresses since I’m short and they make me look shorter. I’m more likely to wear sleeker keds if I want sneakers with a skirt.
thanks for this …love what you said!
I LOVE your pink sweater. I agree with all the items you like. You look great in all the items you mentioned. Nobody should tell you that you "should not wear something. " We are not mannequins. It is ok not looking perfect. Your smile and attitude are much more important.
My fav color has been green since my twenties and it has been very hard to find green anything so I’m soooooo super happy to find green everything.
Also linen love it but coming to the US I realized that people wear it very loose and it looks like you don’t care about how you look, so little by little linen has been more trendy and you can find more styles. Love this video.
High waist pants. Didn’t think they’d be good on my 5’1" frame. Now I won’t buy anything else. Love the balance of a cropped top with a wide leg, high waist pant.
It’s so hilarious to me for people to consider linen a "trend"….I was always just trained to see it as the fabric you wear in the summer to keep you cool…😎😆
It always looks classy and cool to me to, even when it’s slightly wrinkled….
So this ‘Last of The Boomers" girl is all OVER the sneakers with nearly everything trend! Hell yes! I have smallish but wide feet, and a spinal column made of crackers, so I had to say goodbye to heels back in the 80’s. I’m ALL in for the sneaker trend all day, every day. Yes please! I’m also going to try wearing a platform loafer, since flats are also problematic for me. I’ll be looking for trouser shorts this summer, not for short inseam jean shorts. I’m also skipping square tied shoes being a short woman, and I’m DEFINITELY NOT here for the fly fisherman waders boots I saw on the Chanel fall/winter runway. No thank you. I still have my goofy printed wellies that I wear to walk my dog in. When they wear out, I’ll just get some plain black ones. Love the crop top on other people, but I hate my midsection so, not for me. Love the bright colors for spring, I’ll have to use them sparingly however. I loved this video, great idea.
Great ideas, we should wear whatever makes us happy, wear anything… life’s too short…forget about any negative opinions…🤗❤️
Maxi dresses and short skirts with tanks are my go to, but I hate, loathe, and despise crop tops.
I am loving the vibrant but not neon colors that are coming in. Any shoes that are comfy are great! Love them. Flatforms rule!
I myself do not like logos on shirts at all to me they seem very juvenile but to each their own
Also crop top same as logo tops
Hey thanks for another cool video. It’s taken me decades to embrace mixing prints!!!! Can be tricky but also fun.
I really liked this video, surprised on a couple of them.
Can you please make a video on maxi dresses for different body frames? I have a bit of a bosom (5’9" d skinny) but I never know which type of maxi dress suits me best.
Go girl!
why do you need to criticize yourself…those little digs are annoying…you do it every video. stop. save that for your therapist.
Watch your underarms…please. We should all be so lucky to age. Fashion is fun
Oh my gosh, I could relate to nearly all of these! I am 52 and I am here for these!
Unsolicited feedback… The dropped shoulder on the tops in the past two videos make the clothes wear you! They look too big and add weight. I’think a natural shoulder would be more flattering as you are such a natural beauty! Good videos, thank you!
I had to laugh, your doggie came in the room like, yep she’s talking to herself again.Giiiirl you have great legs,I’m jealous, lol you should have been showing your legs
The way you say “trend” makes me cringe every time 😂
So sorry that people make comments like that. Embrace your body and you are aging gracefully! You are beautiful, underarms and all. Thank you so much for your content. You’ve helped me come out of my shell and wear clothes I love that I normally wouldn’t have. Thank you!
If trends are comfortable I will embrace them quickly. If not, someone else can wear them. Whether or not I look good in them is often in the eyes of the beholder. As for your underarms not suiting someone else, too bad for them.
I was an early adopter of sneakers with dresses since I walk a lot for exercise and am a Primary school teacher so it is very practical for my life style. I think colour trends are the most accessible. I invest in timeless styles where the colours are on trend, knowing that they will have longevity. Once I have finished wearing them obsessively they can be reworked on a more infrequent basis in subsequent years.
Love your attitude 😊
I hated the driving show trend. But once I learned about the history of driving shows I love them
Thanks for your interesting topic Leonie! And for all trends you change your opinion on. I have the same experience wirh the Bottega Veneta mules bur I´ve tried them from H&M because I was so sure I woudn´t love is. But I think they´re perfect summer shoes for shorter walks or by the pool. And I ready have Kermit green shoes (mules) for the summer, as I bought in London on the easter break. They will be perfect this summer to my white dress from By Malina. /Marie from Sweden
😀 my mother hates Sneakers with everything hahaha. Kelly green is not a color I like, but give me a darker green or petrol and I’m in. Getting Linen in my summer wardrobe has changed my life!! Well, getting rid of polyester all together has changed everything. I hate to feel sweaty, and as dumb as it sounds it took me forever to figure out that it was the fabrics I was wearing. big DUH lol
Now "real" oversize blazers is still a mehhh for me. I do have broad swimmer shoulders and I’m not a fan of making them look even wider. I do love boxy double row blazers though and have waaaay too many in every color and lenght
Girl you can rock cami’s and shorts. Most would kill to look like you in them. You go girl.
💟 Leonie, just ignore that rude comment…you have a beautiful figure & look great in everything, so just embrace it! Wear what makes you happy & comfortable… that is all that matters at the end of the day! Thanks 💟💜💟
You address that comment that someone made about your under arms being saggy with 💯 % class you have proven you are a class act
I can’t do the trainers with dresses and skirts. I feel my feet are too big in comparison to my legs. I would never feel "put together" with this look. I think it looks really cute on others.
Sneakers with feminine dresses looks great! I love them, they make you effortlessly chic and sexy.
I love the sneakers/trainers with dresses
Do you know how much stuff the bag can hold ? Got mine @ bagxgo.com ,and you just pay a fraction compared to the actual thing, haha! So cool that it comes with the brand card as well! They really pay attention to detail and clearly try to make it as authentic as possible .
Stop listening to the haters! How dare they tell you to watch your?::!!! Anything";!!!! You are a beautiful inspiration! Beauty is in the imperfections !

Thank you for taking us OUT of body shaming. Wear what makes YOU feel good! Here here!!!!!
I think it’s great to be open enough to try different types of clothes if you learn from it – it may suit you or not. But you are the one deciding, not someone who tells you to be careful of this and that. We now have a culture of women (especially) who obsess in front of the mirror each day calculating how asymmetrical their faces are, for example. To me it’s outrageous because beauty just doesn’t work that way. If everyone were the same and if you could make yourself perfect and symmetrical overnight, you would look boring and more importantly, you would lose part of what makes you unique and accessible. Loved the video, I also wear sneakers now and never wore them as a young woman, I was in jeans and heels most of the time. Now I’m way more casual, don’t wear skirts or dresses at all, but love a good blazer (not too oversized for me though). Also love my cool neutrals, with an occasional pop of a variety of pinks. I like to keep it simple!! 😄
Found myself loving the heart Chanel bag ,,, literally from hate to obsession on wearing it to all the times that I can lol 😆
What a great video. They keep getting better each time. A trend I thought I didn’t like was the neon color. But if I get a more muted version of the neon color (that doesn’t look as loud as the highlighter pen color) I’m ok with that 🙂
I love dress and sneakers, skirts and sneakers or anything matched with sneakers looks or outfits. Its comfy, stylish and perfect for moms.
I absolutely love a trainer with a skirt or dress. Why not? We wear what WE like and don’t worry about what others think. DO YOU! Thanks for sharing…
Until 4 years ago I didn’t own any trainers, but after a foot operation was told to wear them while things healed. I bought a couple of pairs, and reluctantly began wearing them – and now I love them! I also thought trainers with dresses looked wrong, but now think it brings an edginess to outfits that might otherwise look too girly for me.
