Financial advice for your 20s, I wish someone told me earlier. This is one of the most requested videos we’ve had for this channel so far, and one I’m very happy to send out into the world. And even if you’re not a young adult, this info should cover the basics, regardless of your current age.

In your twenties, you’re young, you’ve just been thrown out into the world, and you probably have no idea how to manage your finances. After all, it’s not something we’re really taught about at school. And because of that, like all of us you’ll make mistakes, you’ll mess up, and you’ll probably manage your finances poorly. Or at least, most people do.

In this video, I’m going to share the most important financial lessons I wish I knew at 20 years old. As well as some of the major things that helped me become a millionaire at 30, only a decade later. I screwed up, and I didn’t do everything right either; and I’ll be sharing all of that here as well.

0:00 – Introduction
0:50 – Credit card no-no
2:12 – Buying too much stuff
4:33 – You will mess up, so start again
5:20 – Pay with cash, not card
6:01 – Start saving now
6:47 – Buying a house
9:05 – Upskill yourself in valuable, unique ways
13:42 – Fame and riches won’t bring happiness
15:02 – Be real with yourself about what you want
16:50 – Strive for a simple life with minimal expenses
20:43 – Make financial education a priority
21:16 – Outro

I move my money from credit card to revolut and pay the mortgage. I transform the money from credit card cu lunar rates. The interes on credit card is smaller then mortgage. Velocity banking is the best.

i don’t understand because in france a credit car is directly linked to your account and so you have payed it, no need to go back to pay the debt after, and in fact how did you do before? how can you get money out without your card in some places?

  22. stevegorel on October 13, 2021 at 10:19 am

Why houses? They are kind of expensive in maintenance. I’d say a 2 bedroom appartment is more reasonable. And debt is good ni? if its a good debt that tenants pay off? The more you lend , the more you get eventually because the tenants pay for it. Am i wrong?
I’m into 8 appartments with a good amount of debt that is covered by the ren (plus taxes). Seems to work for a few years now already. But we ‘ll see in the long run , fingers crossed

Great advice for adults at any age. It’s def better to get control of your financial habits and your spending decisions early but do t forget you can get better at any time.
Also, the advice to upskill yourself constantly applies to every age. You will continuously need to make money at every age. Make sure you’re developing skills and incomes that will translate throughout your lifetime. A YouTube channel about surfing may not serve you well when you’re elderly, but your real estate and investments will still hold.

  31. Lando Larissian on October 13, 2021 at 10:25 am

I had to cry at No. 10, because that’s everything I ever thought! Why wpuld it be considered not successful to live a simple life?! Why the heck would anybody tell me, what a successful life should look like? That hit all the right spots. Thank you for that!

The high intensity personality with a bit of inferiority complex is an essential ingredient for early success in life. For the average person, it will take 2~3x times longer, but not everyone lives healhty into 60s to 90s!
