if you love cars why do you keep making content that drives prices up? really your site is that important? it’s one thing to say this is a special car, here’s why. this was not that

E36 US M3/4/5 (yes sedan) here and the car is amazing! Have owned it for many years and have loved every moment of it. Best upgrade I ever did was a single stage clutch and a braided steel clutch line. This really opened up the car and it drives so well. Revs like a champ and destroys the twisty roads and corners. Get one! I highly recommend it.

This is the problem… I regret the period I was able to pick up one nice for cheap…

  4. Andrew Yanowsky on May 7, 2022 at 7:21 pm

I love my e36. The size, reliability, and especially the feeling of the car … its genuinely brilliant. Doug is saying thats the best e36 and, fine, he is trying to sell the car. But a solid non M e36 checks so many boxes aside from pure straight line acceleration. Paying the M premium for the car and parts almost isn’t worth it, imho. Plus the non M mirrors have adequate SA

Idk how for u guys… but for us in eastern europe german cars, especially VW, BMW, AUDI are so boring it’s laughable… When u try counting cars and 9 out 10 are german diesel cars… u really get sick of it. Maybe u guys have some feelings for thease cars… but when we see them… we are like: Another one….

In other hand I get really excited even when I see your boring cars like Mustang, Camaro, Dodge. Vette or any other muscle cars From 60s to even new models. Last day I saw most basic Ford Mustang with 2.3 liter engine and it still gave me way more emotion than any german car… Idk why. Maybe its relative.

You actually do have M in the floor mats he just doesn’t have them

  7. Tritech on May 7, 2022 at 7:23 pm

Every tuner car in the 90-2000s had those "m3 style mirrors". Same thing people took with the "Altezza" lights.

Ring track rats been running E36s for years, having multilink rear makes it vastly faster than E30

  9. Carsten Knapmann on May 7, 2022 at 7:26 pm

Please do not touch the gear lever this way.

  10. mightbegenius on May 7, 2022 at 7:27 pm

Back when I was a teenager, 300+ horsepower seemed really fast. Now it’s just mildly quick. Makes you wonder what it’s going to be like in another 20 years.

New drinking game. Take a shot every time Doug specifically says "E36 M3" in this video 😂

  13. Tiresmoke72 on May 7, 2022 at 7:32 pm

Doug’s the type of guy to dump a girl because she has a below average DougScore

  14. Snake Plissken on May 7, 2022 at 7:33 pm

The 36 is fine, but once you realize how much bigger the front wheel cut out looks like then the rear fender… you can´t make it unseen again. It becomes frankenstein.

  15. THANATOS on May 7, 2022 at 7:37 pm

I’m happy to be an owner of a 95 M3 E36, US spec Avus Blue, Even tho it is a US spec, I still absolutely luv the car!!! mine just needs a lot of work lol. It drives and idles great for sitting under a cover for 5 years, I had to change the clutch out myself in an alleyway, The clutch was so trashed that when you put it in gear it woulden’t even stall!!!! Put a new clutch, flywheel and piot bearing, with some other parts for the transmission. The job was an interesting experience for being my first clutch replacement along with this car being my first manual car ever.

  16. Lorenzo Vigni on May 7, 2022 at 7:38 pm

i might be wrong but i think you’re just trying to "inflate" the market with the cars you have on sale… since i live in Italy and this is the first time i hear this car is gaining interest.

  17. Texas_taildraggin on May 7, 2022 at 7:40 pm

This is hard to watch. I regret selling my e36.

  18. Adi Grecu on May 7, 2022 at 7:40 pm

Fun to see cars I own featured every once in a while, but the poor people watching this are in for a hurting if they actually buy one of these. None of these quirks and features ever work, and even if they do it’s not for long.

  19. S-T-E-V-E on May 7, 2022 at 7:42 pm

This was the M3 going around when I came of car age in the 90’s, my sister had a gunmetal grey 325i E36, it was gorgeous!

  20. VIN on May 7, 2022 at 7:45 pm

Fun fact the e36 coupe got the same dimensions as the 2 series

Good lines on it but the performance was disappointing even for the time. Sorry, this one sucks. Nostalgia is the only reason this thing is coming back. It’s not because it was an amazing car

  23. Aha. ♡ on May 7, 2022 at 7:48 pm

I was a little confused at first, when you said this model didn’t get much love until recently, but when you explained the US spec situation I get it. In Europe it’s been THE m3 for many many years now

  24. kg the great one on May 7, 2022 at 7:49 pm

    Nice car

  25. VIN on May 7, 2022 at 7:50 pm

I think every e36 with 6 cylinder and a manual will become valuable

  26. freshgino on May 7, 2022 at 7:50 pm

Show us the keys! I always want to see if they are anything “special” or have anything that makes them stand out

  27. Sideways N on May 7, 2022 at 7:51 pm

Now? I’ve heard my bmw friends talking about the car for over a decade. Pretty sure the car’s been that way since it released

  28. Jack Mag on May 7, 2022 at 7:52 pm

I must be the only person on earth who thinks e36 m3 is fugly , iv never liked the look of the e36 at all ,
    Give me a e46 or e92 m3

  29. Vilkka on May 7, 2022 at 7:52 pm

Interestingly the E36 M3 3.2 liter wasn’t the largest engine the E36 was produced with. Alpina actually made an E36 variant called the B8, which had a 4.6 liter V8 in it.
They did make them as coupe, sedan, touring and convertible although they only produced 221 units of them.

  31. Chris Ward on May 7, 2022 at 7:53 pm

I see the poor door card pockets have sagged . E36 life

  32. DoubleDeckerAnton on May 7, 2022 at 7:57 pm

This is the best designed M3, with just the right enjoyable performance.

  33. Ryan James on May 7, 2022 at 7:59 pm

    We love quirks and features!!!

  34. Sum Ting Wong on May 7, 2022 at 8:00 pm

I had the 3.2 Evolution version….regret selling it now, but at the time I remember it costing a fortune just to maintain it in semi-decent condition. The underfloor and sills/jacking points were rusty as hell and some parts were very expensive to get hold of. It made a great sound though especially in tunnels.

  35. OnlyHuman on May 7, 2022 at 8:00 pm

That engine is a gem.McLaren F1 engine is based on it.It’s a great engine from an engineering point of view.

  36. Junior A on May 7, 2022 at 8:03 pm

    My grail car

  37. 2 Steak Sandwiches on May 7, 2022 at 8:04 pm

Also, I remember this particular e36 on “the chase” with Kristy Swanson. I was 14. Dream girl back then

  38. Mazza Chan on May 7, 2022 at 8:08 pm

I think this M3 comes from JAPAN, because ETC and VICS beacon on the Dash…..

  39. Dallos Zsolt on May 7, 2022 at 8:09 pm

Just to put this into perspective: when this M3 came out in the early 90’s, it was more powerful than the actual Porsche 911.

  41. Bishoy Metry on May 7, 2022 at 8:10 pm

my 1992 325is e36 was the greatest car i’ve ever owned, got it from the second owner which was a gentlemen who purchased it from a church when the original owner donated it to them. it had 75k original miles. perfect exterior and interior i even had the tools which is extremely rare. amazing exhaust note and steering too. i ended up selling it a profiting 4k don’t regret it cuz i will have an m3 one day. but my gosh do i miss it

Why not review the 2008-2014 BMW X6M/X5M?

  47. Joshua Aaron on May 7, 2022 at 8:13 pm

I remember when I first got my e36 back in like 2007. I was showing it to a girl at work and when she opened the passenger door, the door card just stayed in place while the door still opened.

I miss mine, but the interiors were pretty bad.

  48. Future Nickel Racing on May 7, 2022 at 8:14 pm

Really depends if it’s the Euro or if it’s the Evo, the Evo is a whole different breed incomparable to the US spec, just sold mine with a rocketbunny kit for 25k USD to a buddy lol

  49. Gospel Guitarist on May 7, 2022 at 8:15 pm
