This man’s voice does not make me excited to watch this video. Watching this vid as research for a design project. Not any help. I didn’t learn anything. Terrible narrator.

The zoot suit started to be worn in the1930s. It wasn’t Edwardian.

  22. Ellie Milianti on May 26, 2021 at 8:38 pm

Mod didn’t happen til AFTER Twiggy made it happen. That american model? Never heard of her. We were all about the British Invasion. Jean Shrimpton was already an established model.

In “A Hard Day’s Night”, an interviewer asks Ringo if he is a Mod or a Rocker to which he replies, “I’m a Mocker””. Epic.

    So hipsters.

  29. Ramona on May 26, 2021 at 8:59 pm

The mini skirt was created by Andre Courreges not Mary Quaint as the narrator claimed.

I was on a bus on Haight Street in San Francisco one afternoon. Suddenly all traffic stopped and we heard a buzzing noise that got louder by the second. Everyone looked mystified. Then in less than half a minute a swarm of Vespas appeared. At least 50 of them. Riding them were young adults in Mod clothes, waving to everyone. People on the bus went nuts. (This is something that will probably NEVER happen anywhere else.)

  31. Aimee Thomson on May 26, 2021 at 8:59 pm

The 80’s the last of mod fashion. Died in ‘92 with Grunge & fashion has yet to return. Been wearing yoga pants & T for oh 15 yrs…

  37. Lesley Hawes on May 26, 2021 at 9:07 pm

These are mostly young and American commentators; I’m British, 77 and I was there; OK I wasn’t rich but I did wear Mod clothes, but also the leather look, which these people so deride, and also I was a flower child and a ‘hippy’, all of that in a period of 10 years. Most people I knew did the same, we wore what was ‘in’ that particular season, and although some people would like to remember it so, it was not a universal movement!

  38. SassyBratt1 on May 26, 2021 at 9:07 pm

The mod look is pretentious and stuck up.
