Since you said you like high end basics, pretty surprised to not see John Elliot. If you were to rank it on this list, where would you put it?

Great video! I love your personal brand analysis. My personal favorite brands are Tom Ford, The Row, Balenciaga (under Demna), and Gucci (under Tom Ford and Alessandro Michele).
I am very into suiting and classic menswear mixed with a modern flair. I also like fall/winter fashion more than spring/summer since I live in the northeast/surrounding NYC area. That also plays into the brands I identify with.

Personally, I love Tom Ford because he was the designer that got me into fashion. His collections have been lackluster as of late, but I will always identify with his sleek, classic RTW and suiting. I also grab a lot of vintage TF-era Gucci RTW when I can!

The Row is an amazing minimal brand that makes great basics with luxurious fabrics. I am definitely in the market for a sweater or turtleneck from the TR.

Balenciaga is a brand I go to for its unique cuts and styling. Not so much into the hoodies/t-shirt. I love Demna’s structured silhouettes when it comes to his suiting and coats (FW17, FW19 are my favorite collections from him).

Finally, Gucci under Alessandro is just whacky fun, and I love it! 2016-early 2019 was the time for cute embroidered animals and motifs on his clothes. My favorite piece that I own is a rugby shirt with an embroidered cat on the right chest. It’s unique, yet classic. I definitely wanted to get the NY Yankees houndstooth overcoat, but alas, I missed my opportunity.

Gotta agree with most brands in your list. Maybe it’s personal bias, but Kapital in the B Tier rubs me the wrong way. Just thinking of some of the casual patchwork blazers, Ring Coats, Knit Kakashi Jackets or even the crazier pieces like wraparound pants are really exciting. Although their design is very hit or miss for me (which is why I wouldn’t put it in S), they created a world of their own which many styles can pull different pieces out of to spicy it up with the Japanese funk.

This list is shit. I love Rick but S tier. Lmaoooo.

  22. J on November 2, 2021 at 11:51 am

A.Vaccarello has been doing an amazing job at Saint Laurent..give the man some credit it’s awesome. Saint Laurent prêt à porter is waaaay better than Balmain, Dior or even Burberry in my opinion.

You right about Gaultier, he was a designer for Hermès.
Tisci at Burberry deserves to be an A or a B imo.

For everything else i agree with you, good job dude!

  29. da ven on November 2, 2021 at 11:59 am

I will fistfight you for putting Vete at D tier, am able to provide you with a lot of cool pieces throughout Demna’s entire duration of stay at the brand (before FW19) with references and such in order to prove you wrong and for you to move it up higher

  30. Will on November 2, 2021 at 12:00 pm

Balenciagas creative direction and marketing is always super unique and innovative. Definitely one of my favourite parts about the brand.
