When Should my Baby… Milestones 0-12 months
When Should my Baby… Milestones 0-12 months
When should my baby…
As physicians we hear this question all the time!
Parents are always concerned about the developmental milestones of their baby. There is SO much happening in the first year and parents tend to be both nervous and excited about making sure their baby is developing properly, and rightfully so.
We have reviewed early developmental milestones from birth-12 months of age (including gross motor development, fine motor skills, language progression and social skills). It is important for parents to remember that development is not always linear and all babies develop at their own pace, but hopefully this video is a helpful general guide. Additionally, We review some development red flags so parents know when they should discuss concerns with their pediatrician.
When should my baby… Hopefully this video has the answer!

My baby is only 3 months and he rolled over from Stomach to Back. He puts everything in his mouth. He also laughs too. He’ll be 4 months in 2 weeks!
My baby is 5months plus and she’s on de journey of crawling, should I be worried…a first time mum
My baby rolled from tummy to back at 2 weeks😳
It would be betterif you did not skip the 0 – 1 month, 3 months, 5months, 7.months and 10 months
Thanks a lot 😊
my baby sister she completely skipped crawling she went straight to walking speed racer had nothing to do with that 🤣
My 1 month old is speaking in full sentences.
Ummm…why does my boy flip onto his back at 2.5wks???
Beautiful babies and what a wonderful couple!!! Hope you guys are doing great, seem to form a strong and loving team, God bless. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
You skipped a lot and so we missed a lot.
Mine is 7 months. 5 weeks premature. She doesn’t roll over yet or crawl.
Thank you!! I started worrying and my husband found this video and made me feel much better about our 7 month old.
WONDERFUL baby
And beautiful babies 👶🏻❤️
You dont know for a fact that babies dont social smile before 2 months . Yes they grimace with gas but when a baby younger then 2 months old will hold your gaze and return a smile that’s not gas.
Thank you both. This is absolutely helpful not only to young parents but also to USMLE preparations lol. Hope to see more videos.
Please do the video about the baby listening to two languages
my nephew started walking at 7 months. He walked right under tables 🤣
Cute couple. Enjoyed your video.
Is it true that bilingual/trilingual babies talk a little later than babies who only learn one? My baby is regularly exposed to 3 languages at a time and I keep wondering if she will be delayed in speaking bc of it 😳
We need more such informative videos and with great content. Thank you for sharing.
My baby started to roll over around 3.5 months and it was hard to put diaper on her coz she would keep rolling over every time we change her diaper. At 6 months she was trying to stand on her own sometimes 3-6 seconds. She’s 9 months now, she hasn’t cruised, never saw her cruise but she pulls herself up and would stand. And then she tries to put her hands up and down with her body like she’s trying to bounce or something. She’s been saying her sister’s name Arara (Aurora) and her name Awewine (Adeline).
Seems like a great guy/ dad. Lucky family.
I had no idea my son was so advanced until I watched this video 😳 he’s my first so I wasn’t tracking his milestones but he started rolling at 3 months, sitting up at 4 months, and now he’s six months and crawling through the house and pulling up on the furniture letting go trying to stand for two seconds before falling and he says mama 🤯 plus he’s very clingy to me he screams when his dad tries to take him from me or if I leave the room and he cries when strangers trying to hold him at 6 months old
My eldest daughter started to walk at 13mos, my 2nd girl at 9mos and my 3rd baby boy is now 8mos and just started to stand( given there’s something to hold)
I was taught that in a multiple language household each parent should speak only in one language to their baby. If one or both parents speak to their baby in multiple languages, it can cause delay in the baby’s language development. It’s suggested that each parent pick one language they want to teach their baby and speak only in that language. Example: mom is fluent in three languages and dad is fluent in French and English….
Mom to baby “Hola” (Speaks only in Spanish to baby)
Dad to baby “Hello” (Speaks only English to baby)
Then the baby will learn both English and Spanish without any confusion or delay in speech.☺️ And of course as they get older you can always add in other languages for them to learn.
💖💛❤️🧡💖💜💚💙💖
My baby is basically crawling at 4 months
Do you advice to use walker? What’s the best time to use a walker?
I might like later
Is it normal for a baby to not like to be on their tummy? His almost 4 months he hates to be on his tummy, he started to laugh at the beginning of 3 month😂 actually the first time he giggled he was sleeping it was so sweet I hate it that I didn’t film it
Entertaining and educational
This video made me very emotional haha your baby is so cute.. 35 weeks today and can’t wait.. I’m nervous but I’m prepared❤️
I’ll only subscribe if I learn more about bones, enough about babies!
I want that bones content
My 9 month old has been standing alone and took a few steps already 😢
12:00 my son already does that. He cries the moment he is left alone. He’s been doing that since 2 months lol. 💀😂 my daughter (his twin) could not care any less especially if she is being entertained in some way (tv, music etc). They are 4 months now and pretty much everything mentioned in the video checks out.
I have a huge dry erase board I use to write down their monthly milestones and I’m happy to learn that they are "on track". I am looking forward to the 6 – 9 month period 😂 I’m ready for the "stranger danger" phase as my daughter is so pleasant that she allows anyone to hold her and smiles 🤪😁
I have commented
My youngest was walking at 7 months and taking his first steps at 6. It was weird though lol, he was so tiny.
My boy rolled over at 10 weeks, but was born 3 weeks early so I guess it’s adjusted to 7 months 😄
They smile when they have gas? I thought they would cry lol
Speak for yourselves, my baby is just 2 months old and is already drawing up plans to invade China
Talk slower!
My baby was rolling back to tummy both ways by 3 1/2 months but she has a hard time with tummy to back lol
great video!!! keep it up!<3
But I’ve comfronted
I loved this video. Thanks. My anxiety went down a bit bc my son is 13 months & still hasn’t said mama yet. He can walk & do everything else though.
Thank you! You are better than some pediatrician. I wish I watched this when I had my first baby. I was so terrified because my baby wasn’t doing based on what their book saying. Thank God! Now no one can catches him when he runs around.
She’s blabing more than a baby :))
My mom told me I used to just roll around instead of crawl.
I’m an OT in Peddu for 33 years. It’s very frustrating for me that people don’t take more time to focus on the importance of Crawling. Crawling is probably the most crucial milestone a child can do to help them develop and have the most success in future learning in behavior. This is when their tonic neck reflex is get further integrated, they begin to develop near and far point focusing, it helps to develop the artist in their hands to get ready for intricate fine motor skills, helps build core strength and most importantly gets to two sides of the body working in a coordinated fashion as well as strengthens your eye hand coordination had to mention of a bunch of other sensory system benefits… this is a wonderful video but it be nice if you did some thing to emphasize Crawling benefits!
