Great video Jeff. Can you recommend quality leather sneakers that are "barefoot style", with zero drop, thinner flexible sole and wide toe box? I have a regular heal but wide toes. Wide shoes are not the solution for me as they’re wide in the back as well and end up being loose. Thanks

I am 5-11" tall with dark complexion.
Will those all white minimum sneaker suit my frame and body color?

I love the minimal style. I hate wearing clothes that make me feel like a walking advertisement with big logos all over the place.

OG this winter the cold weather in the North East had me look for some winter sneakers after one too many cold days outside while wearing my dress sneakers. I had brought two pairs of winter sneakers from Vans the Sk8-Hi MTE 2.0 DX which is based on their skateboard high-top sneakers. Both in Water-repellent suede the first in gray, black side strips with a white sole and the second in ginger brown, dark brown side strips with a white sole. I aimed to keep them simple as possible and for versatility. My feet were warms on those days except for two certain days when the temperature had really dropped even lower.

I had just taken a look at the Vans website and almost all are gone. A bunch of Customs sneakers with way too many colors and too bright in colors. One type of Sk8-Hi MTE 2.0 DX in all black leather with a gum sole is left. The last one would give you an idea of the look but imagine it in suede and the colors I had mentioned before. Hopefully, by next winter they will make more so I can get a third pair in blue.

I’ve been rocking minimal shoes ever since I was 14, I’m 20 now and ion think I’m ever changing it. I was quite literally looking at those exact shoes at the shoe store recently, I must be an old sole (get it!) 2:43

I’m 34 but I feel like vans works for everything. They are plain, low profile, one solid color and won’t break your wallet. They are both casual, urban, and athletic

    *Driver planta goma
    *Semibrogue, fullbrogue, wingtip planta goma
    *Derbis planta de goma.

Si quieres confirmar que sos un viejo arrepentido, usalas….sino dejales a los jóvenes que les queda muy bien y es coherente.

Hey OG I’m a 50 year old Asian dad with 2 teenage sons that are sneaker heads. I grew up always loving Jordan’s and for a time kinda gave them up as I was coming up on age. Now that my kids are whipping out so many Jordan’s, Yeezys, Sacais – I can’t help but to get sucked back in esp Jordans being like a first love. While I couldn’t really afford Jordan’s growing up they’re easier to attain now. I saw your video on giving up Jordans and it kinda broke my heart as the 13s are my all time favorite. Now seeing this video while I wholeheartedly agree with you, would you consider Nike x Sacai LD Waffle fairly minimalist? I’m mainly speaking of the grey and white CW and black and white Vaporwaffle CW. My wife abhors me wearing J1s period but I trimmed down to the University blue CW and Shadow CW – plain and subtle enough right? While I have Hermès and LV “minimalist” sneakers, man they uncomfortable after walking on them for more than an hour. Would love to hear your opinion on the Sacais and Jordans at age 50.

I’m young mid 40’s and I agree. However, I had run into looking at minimal dress sneakers like these, and I didn’t even know they were a thing or what they really were. All I knew was that I was looking at dressy menswear and here were these elegantly styled sneakers that would be fit for a dress outfit and I got myself a 2 in a dark brown shade and one in black. I had 3 new pairs of shoes and barely realized they were dress sneakers but looked damn good and styled. It was only when I ran into a few of these videos I realize what I had bought and that they were a thing for older guys to dress well in.

Also didn’t know a hoodie in a suit was a thing. I’ve never seen that before until I was staring at the still picture dress style. I was like, never seen that before.

  17. Eddie Vee on February 18, 2022 at 10:50 pm

    Appreciate all the wisdom, brother!

  18. Chris P on February 18, 2022 at 10:52 pm

The best low profile minimal sneakers I have seen are ‘OpieWay’ They’re handmade with American materials in America. No logo on the sneakers. They’re pricy, but have quality leather that can be maintained, and sole replaced for good price. Check it out, OG! Saluuute!
FYI, they don’t paint their shoes, so will not look bad with age like the other white sneakers. BTW, they will do custom jobs; i.e. tell them what you want taken off or put in, and they’ll do it; you’ll speak to the owner, since it’s a small company. Made to order!

  19. John Crandall on February 18, 2022 at 10:52 pm

I like minimal sneakers since I can wear them with chinos. I’m a special education teacher so I’m running all over the school so I need a more comfortable shoe that doesn’t make it look like I’m trying to be one of the fellow kids

  20. Ray Lewis on February 18, 2022 at 10:53 pm

Gems dropped by several vendors’ reps at market: let shoes “breathe” for a day before the shoe tree. Don’t wear any pair for at least a week after you take ‘em off. Your style concepts for dressing mature men are very smart. I appreciate “no logos”, “mostly solid colors”, varied textures, detailed grooming. You let your planned activity or event lead your style choices. Your recommendations are appreciated. My takeaways from you are 1.tone down— don’t minimize, but minimalize to your comfort level. 2. Let the occasion decide the style mode. 3. Restraint is key. Edit. —I’m a recent subscriber. Much respect.

  21. Marcus A. from The Bay on February 18, 2022 at 10:54 pm

I agree whole heatedly, fellow OG! Wear your running shoes when you are running. Rock your Jordans and other sneakers when you are actually participating in that sport or maybe (MAYBE) when you are attending a particular sporting event. Other than those scenarios, keep the collection under wraps.

the best sneakers to attract older women

  23. jayhartRIC on February 18, 2022 at 10:56 pm

Anyone what color and kind of shirts to wear with all-white sneakers and stone chinos?

  24. Scoob Jones on February 18, 2022 at 10:57 pm

U don’t have to lean towards them but they are versatile and doesn’t hurt to have a couple pair in rotation

  25. Ian Samuelson on February 18, 2022 at 10:57 pm

I’ve been binging your videos. I’m debating between investing in brown dress shoes and the Thursday brand Cacao minimal sneakers. I just turned 40 and am refocusing on my clothing and style. Your channel has been such a big help. Salute!

You got me buying these shoes OG salute

  32. Edmond Carter on February 18, 2022 at 11:05 pm

I hired an image consult and she basically told me everything that you been saying for years, the main thing I was needing to know my style personality and colors. My style personality is classical, sporty and dramatic. To make a long post short you’re on top of your game with the knowledge. I just ordered all white Stan smiths adidas. Ps you’re right about cheap leather it cracks faster than a suspect being interviewed by a homicide detective 🕵️‍♀️ lol

I love cole Haan and Taft

  34. richv77 on February 18, 2022 at 11:07 pm

I agree with everything mentioned. Thanks! But what about a nice walking sneaker? I find that my feet hurt less when I am wearing a nice pair of New Balance sneakers and I am walking in a typical mall where the floors are made of concrete. I do own a pair of white KOIO’s that I wear on Sundays. Other older men (>55 YR) have said that NB sneakers are very comfortable.

  35. Felton wiggins on February 18, 2022 at 11:07 pm

Love your comments but I feel certain looks go best with certain people. I love my classic low top air force one’s in white. Nice clean look and pretty much goes with everything. My choice and what I like. Keep up the great work and love the information you give to men.👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

How can you tell if the leather is cheap on the white sneakers. & also what do you think of the white sneakers that Thursday Boots have to offer?

  46. wayne younger on February 18, 2022 at 11:23 pm

I’m a bigger guy with wide feet and was having trouble finding low profile minimals in my size 13W. I found them at Nordstrom Rack from Nunn-Bush. I bought two pairs! Thanks for the tip. Love the content!

My issue is that some of the companies don’t make sneakers in wide widths.
